HeinOnline has added a metric to its ScholarCheck Author Ranking which will place a higher value on more recent scholarship (within the past 10 years) than on scholarship older than 10 years. Under the new formula, an author’s overall ScholarRank will be composed of four equally-weighted components: (1) the number of times the author has been cited by other articles in HeinOnline, (2) the number of times the author has been cited by cases, (3) the number of times the author’s scholarship has been accessed in the past 12 months, and (4) the number of times the author has been cited by articles published in the past 10 years. The fourth component is new.
