The Law Library is pleased to announce the next video in the “Iowa Thinking” series. This is a series of short videos highlighting faculty scholarship and research at Iowa Law.
In this video, Professor Alexander Somek speaks briefly about his newest book, “The Cosmopolitan Constitution” (Oxford University Press 2014). In this book, which bridges the gap between constitutional theory and political theory, Professor Somek argues that a truly cosmopolitan constitution is not a blueprint for the constitution beyond the nation-state, let alone a constitution of the international community; rather, it stands for constitutional law reaching out beyond its national bounds.
Professor Somek has prepared a brief written summary for download. The Cosmopolitan Constitution by Alexander Somek
