New Interlibrary Loan System

The Law Library has a new interlibrary loan system, ILLiad, that allows users to request materials online.  To set up an account, follow this link and select “Log in to Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery.” You will log in with your HawkID and password and the system will provide you with a form to populate. Please select “Law Library” as your home library and “Law Library” as your pick-up library.  “Law” is currently not an option under College, so you may select “Other” from the bottom of the drop-down menu.

Once you have set up an interlibrary loan account, you may request items yourself online or your research assistants may request interlibrary loan items on your behalf by emailing Eric Earhart at eric-earhart@uiowa.edu.

The new system also gives you the ability to use UBorrow.  UBorrow is a service of the Big Ten Academic Alliance (formerly known as the Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC)).  Books borrowed through UBorrow offer a generous twelve-week loan period, as well as an option to renew for four additional weeks.  Books requested through UBorrow typically will arrive within one week.  For more about UBorrow, as well as tutorials on using UBorrow, please visit this library guide.

For more information regarding this new interlibrary loan process or for assistance in setting up your account, please contact Eric Earhart, eric-earhart@uiowa.edu, who oversees interlibrary loan.
