Open Research and Contributor ID (ORCID) is a non-profit effort to address author name ambiguity by creating a central registry containing unique identifiers for authors. ORCID provides authors with a persistent digital identifier that distinguishes each author from other authors with similar names and supports automated linkages between an individual author’s identity and his or her work.
Authors may register for an ORCID identifier here.
Faculty members publishing in SSRN may link their ORCID identifier to their SSRN profile. In addition to ORCID identifiers, authors may now also add a photo and a CV to their SSRN author page.
To make these additions, sign into SSRN and select “Personal Info” from the left menu. In the middle of the page will be a “Connect to your ORCID Record” button. Near the bottom of the page is the option to add a photo and a CV. The CV must be in PDF format. The photo must be a headshot in JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PNG, or BMP format.
