Ravel Law is a recent entry in the legal research market, originating at Stanford University.  Ravel made headlines last fall because of a partnership with Harvard Law Library to digitize Harvard’s collection of case law and make it available through Ravel.

Ravel focuses on analytics and visualization of case information, displaying relevancy to a topic and connections between cases.  While the case coverage offered by Ravel is not as comprehensive as that offered by legal research options such as Westlaw and Lexis, Ravel’s case coverage will continue to increase as the digitization project with Harvard continues.

University of Iowa College of Law faculty can sign up for a free Ravel Advanced account by selecting “Create an Educational Account” on this page.
