PDFs of historical federal and state case law are available in HeinOnline’s Early American Case Law Collection. This collection includes the 30 volume set Federal Cases Comprising Cases Argued and Determined in the Circuit and District Courts of the United States from the Earliest Times to the Beginning of the Federal Reporter, Arranged Alphabetically by the Titles of the Cases, and Numbered Consecutively, which consists of more than 20,000 cases from 1789 to 1880 arranged alphabetically by case name. Historical state case law is available in the Trinity Series, which consists of American Decisions (1760 – 1869), American Reports (1870 – 1887), and American State Reports (1888 – 1911).  Researchers can easily browse these case reporters or use the index to locate a case by name. Other specialized historical reporters and useful finding aids are available as well.
