H. Claude Horack held degrees from University of Iowa, Harvard, Tulane University, and Wake Forest College. He taught law at University of Wisconsin from 1904 to 1907, before joining the faculty at Iowa. He served as a professor at Iowa from 1907 until 1930.
He ended his career as a professor and dean at Duke University School of Law. During his time as Dean of Duke University School of Law, the future President Richard Nixon worked as one of his research assistants. He died in 1958.
