Biographical Information

LaVega George (L.G.) Kinne earned a legal degree from University of Michigan Law School in 1868. He practiced law in the state of Iowa and ran for governor as a Democrat in 1881 and 1883. He held local office in Toledo, Iowa, and was the editor of the Des Moines Leader. He served as a district judge and Supreme Court justice. After retiring from the bench, he was a lecturer on the law faculty at University of Iowa College of Law from 1890 to 1898. He died in 1906.
