Chantelle Smith

Biography

As the Community Engagement Specialist and People's Law Library Coordinator, Chantelle conducts education and outreach to create and enhance access to legal information and increase the public's understanding of the law and access to justice. As a significant part of this work, she spearheads the development of the People's Law Library, a program of the State Library of Iowa.

Prior to joining the University of Iowa College of Law in 2023, Chantelle served as an assistant attorney general in the Iowa Attorney General's Office.

Chantelle is an alumni of the University of Iowa College of Law and received a B.S.B.A. in accounting and corporate finance from Drake University.

Chantelle is in her second term on the Iowa Supreme Court's Access to Justice Commission and is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association. She is a member of the State Bar of Iowa and is admitted to practice in Iowa's federal courts.
