As the Head of Research & Foreign, Comparative, and International Law (FCIL), Don is the primary contact for faculty research requests and the primary selector for FCIL legal material. He also teaches advanced legal research courses, including one on FCIL and another on litigation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Don also guest lectures in other College of Law classes, including the legal research course for foreign LLM students and visiting foreign scholars. Don serves as a member of the Law Library’s reference staff and provides research consultations at the reference desk and by appointment.

Don has a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law and is admitted to practice in Virginia. Don earned an MLIS from the University of Pittsburgh School of Information Sciences, and was awarded BAs in International Relations and German Area Studies from American University in Washington, DC.  

Don's professional memberships include the American Society of International Law (ASIL); the International Legal Research Interest Group (ILRIG) of ASIL; the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL); the Foreign, Comparative & International Law (FCIL) Special Interest Section (SIS) of AALL; and the Mid-American Association of Law Libraries (MAALL).  Don served as Chair of AALL's FCIL-SIS during 2013-2014.
